Musical Links to Literacy

Join us for this unique workshop!  Explore basic music concepts and develop a repertoire of songs, rhymes and fingerplays.  With the use of a variety of picture books, participants will gain practical information on connecting music and early literacy experiences.  This is an excellent workshop for anyone wanting to create new opportunities for using music and books with children.

Angelique Davies is a registered early childhood educator who has worked in a variety of environments including museum, day care, charitable foundation, family resource program and kindergarten classroom settings since 1992.  She has her Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Music Education from the Royal Conservatory of Music & Ryerson University, and has delivered unique workshops to early childhood practitioners at numerous colleges and conferences for over ten years.  Angelique then went on to earn a Masters of Education in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at OISE/UT.  She has also acted as a Course Instructor, and taught a music course to pre-service ECE students.  Angelique continues to bring music experiences to young children in Full Day Kindergarten.  Feel welcome to visit her blog for suggested ways to enrich your curriculum with the arts.  http://earlychildhoodartsconnection.ca/
